2027 Election: Okpebholo says Edo is ready to deliver Tinubu, APC

Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, has expressed confidence that the All Progressives Congress (APC) will secure victory across the state in the January 16, 2027 general election.

The governor said the state was prepared to deliver President Bola Tinubu for a second term, alongside APC candidates seeking seats in the National Assembly and Edo State House of Assembly.

Okpebholo made the declaration on Thursday while inspecting the renovated secretariat of the Edo State Presidential Campaign Council in Benin City.

The visit was conducted by the Director-General of the council, Senator Mathew Urhoghide, who showed the governor around the facility ahead of the election.

Speaking with journalists after the inspection, Okpebholo commended the renovation work and described the campaign complex as ready for the election season.

He also claimed that the APC had secured the commitment of 2.5 million votes from Edo State, insisting that the figure was not open to negotiation.

“As you can see on the board, Asiwaju 2027 is settled. Our 2.5 million votes are not negotiable. They are already settled, and that is the truth,” the governor said.

The campaign council director-general said Okpebholo had provided the facility for the council’s activities and visited to assess the progress of the renovation.

According to him, the renovation was undertaken to provide a suitable environment for coordinating campaign activities and presenting the party’s candidates to voters.

Urhoghide also appealed to journalists to support the council’s efforts by providing coverage of its campaign activities, describing the media as an important partner in reaching the electorate.
