A socio-political group, Yayi Ni Wura Alliance Movement (YAM), has said it is targeting 100,000 votes for the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Ogun State, Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, in the 2027 election.
The group also declared support for the re-election of President Bola Tinubu, citing the administration’s economic reforms and infrastructure projects as evidence of progress across the country.
The Coordinator of YAM, Hon. Akeem Sodiya, and its Director of Media, Publicity, and Administration, Wasiu Adejumo, disclosed this at a press conference held at the Secretariat of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Abeokuta, over the weekend.
Adejumo called on Nigerians to be patient with the Federal Government’s economic reforms, saying the policies required time to achieve their intended results.
He said the Tinubu administration had demonstrated commitment to improving the economy and infrastructure, adding that the president should be given another term to consolidate the gains recorded so far.
He said, “President Tinubu is doing everything to perfect the economy, and his infrastructure revolution across the country is commendable. We can see that there is progress in the country.
“The country is progressing under the Renewed Hope Agenda. He deserves a second term because he is a good and listening leader.”

On the 2027 Ogun governorship election, Adejumo said YAM was confident in Adeola’s experience and capacity to govern the state, citing his record as a senator representing Ogun West.
He said the group had commenced mobilization efforts to secure 100,000 votes for the APC candidate.
“Senator Yayi has done well as a senator representing Ogun West, and he is still doing well. He deserves to be the governor of Ogun State. As a group, we are going to mobilize 100,000 votes for Senator Yayi,” he said.
Adejumo also dismissed the controversy surrounding Adeola’s indigene status, describing it as an attempt by political opponents to discredit the APC candidate.
He alleged that opposition elements were using the issue for political purposes.
Earlier, Sodiya said YAM was established to support Adeola and other APC candidates, particularly in Ogun State, while also mobilizing support for President Tinubu’s re-election.
He urged Nigerians to support the president, saying the group was prepared to contribute to efforts to mobilize support for his re-election.
Sodiya also described Adeola as an experienced politician, saying his political background had prepared him for the responsibilities of governing Ogun State.
