Your thanksgiving should reflect your financial status – Pastor

A pastor has urged Christians to express gratitude to God not only with words but also through generous financial giving.

Speaking during a church service, he said it is dishonouring to claim to be grateful while offering little or nothing in thanksgiving, arguing that thanksgiving should involve one’s substance.

According to the cleric, a person’s thanksgiving offering should reflect their financial status, adding that those who are financially blessed should not give as though they have very little.

He also disclosed that he has been giving thanksgiving offerings worth millions of naira, using his personal practice to illustrate his message on generous giving.

His words in part …

“It’s important for you to note this reality and note it very well. God is King of the whole earth. It is dishonouring to say you are grateful and your substance is not involved. You cannot thank God empty handed,, you have to thank God with substance, you can’t give God what you like or what you wish, if you have 2 cars and a house and millions in income, you cannot be giving like a tenant. If you’re grateful, your Thanksgiving offering should reflect your status. I started giving my thanksgiving offering in millions since yesterday. How did I get to this place…”
