Nollywood actor Yomi Fabiyi has weighed in on the ongoing disagreement surrounding the burial arrangements of late gospel singer Toluwanisings, urging his widow, Elizabeth Akanbi, to respect the wishes of her husband’s family.

Toluwanisings reportedly died on October 14, 2026, after slumping in Ibadan. Following his death, a disagreement reportedly emerged between his widow and family members over where he should be laid to rest.

The singer’s father, Muniru Adekunle Olayemi, had expressed his desire to have his son buried either at their family house or in Ikirun, Osun State, where his late wife was buried.

Similarly, the singer’s paternal uncle, Lawal Ademola, disclosed that the family preferred having him buried at his residence in Ibadan.

Reacting to the development in a video shared recently, Yomi Fabiyi appealed to Elizabeth to allow the family to carry out the burial according to their preferred arrangements.

According to the actor, Toluwanisings’ father had not made any negative remarks about his late son, stressing that there was no need for further disagreements over the burial.

Fabiyi said:

“I would advise his wife to allow her husband to be buried according to the wishes and plans of his family. After all, Toluwanisings’ father has not said anything evil against his late son. She should allow peace to reign in the family and let the burial process go on without further controversy.”

The actor also questioned the suggestion that the late singer should be buried in a cemetery.

He further alleged that some individuals pushing for such an arrangement might eventually exhume the singer’s remains for ritual purposes because of his popularity and perceived spiritual gifts. However, Fabiyi did not provide any evidence to substantiate the allegation.
