A woman has shared a troubling account of her former neighbour, a once-successful banker whose life reportedly took a drastic turn after losing his job four years ago.
According to her narration, the man, who had been financially stable when he married his wife, struggled to keep his family afloat after his sudden unemployment.
Despite his efforts to take on multiple low-income jobs, including cleaning homes and schools, his situation worsened, eventually leading to a health emergency last week when he collapsed while working and was later diagnosed with high blood pressure and partial stroke.
Struggles after sudden job loss
The woman explained that the man had continued to prioritize his children’s education, even securing a partial tuition discount from a school where he worked as a cleaner.
However, she claimed his wife refused to seek employment or support the family financially, insisting she was not prepared for hardship.
“My former neighbour was working in a bank when he met his wife. He was doing very well financially, and they got married. The wife was not working because the man could provide everything. After the third child, four years ago, the man lost his job as a banker.”
Health crisis raises concerns
She further noted that the man’s condition deteriorated under mounting pressure, culminating in his collapse. Health experts have often linked prolonged stress and financial strain to hypertension and related illnesses.
“Last week, the man collapsed while working, and he woke up with a partial stroke. The doctor said he had high blood pressure, which resulted in his condition. The man was just crying on his hospital bed. Wives, kindly support your husbands.”
