President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has expressed deep sympathy to former Minister of Finance, Kemi Adeosun, following the death of her husband, Anthony Adeniyi Adeosun, describing his passing as a painful loss to his family, friends and all whose lives he touched.
Anthony Adeosun died in Lagos at the age of 62, bringing to an end a life that many have described as one defined by faith, compassion and selfless service.
In a condolence message released on Thursday through his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu acknowledged the widespread tributes that have followed Adeosun’s passing, noting that they reflect the impact he made through his generosity, humility and unwavering commitment to helping others.
The President said the testimonies pouring in from people who knew the late businessman painted the picture of a devoted Christian who consistently used his resources and influence to support charitable causes and uplift the less privileged.
Tinubu urged the former finance minister and the entire Adeosun family to find comfort in the enduring legacy left behind by the deceased, describing his life as one built on integrity, faith and meaningful service to humanity.
He also prayed for God’s comfort during the family’s period of grief while asking the Almighty to grant Anthony Adeosun eternal rest.
Earlier, the Adeosun family had announced his passing in a statement signed by Reverend C. A. Adeosun.
The family disclosed that Anthony Adeosun died on August 5 after what they described as a life devoted to God, his loved ones and service to humanity.
While announcing the sad development, the family said they accepted his passing with total submission to the will of God, remembering him as a respected businessman, committed Christian and compassionate man whose values of integrity, generosity and steadfast faith earned him admiration from everyone who encountered him.
They added that his devotion to family, community and spiritual life would remain an enduring source of inspiration for generations to come.
