The emotional reunion with their families was marked by tears, gratitude and relief as the victims recounted their rescue and expressed appreciation to the officers who carried out the operation.
One of the rescued victims said, “I never thought I’d say this… I have criticized the police in the past, but today I must give credit where it is due. The Nigeria Police have earned my respect.”
The successful operation, codenamed Operation KO S’AYE, underscores the ongoing collaboration between the Lagos and Ogun State Police Commands in tackling kidnapping and other violent crimes across both states.
The police said the operation sends a strong message that criminal elements will no longer find refuge in forests or isolated locations, stressing that security forces remain determined to deny criminals safe havens.
With the success of the operation, authorities reiterated their resolve to sustain the crackdown on criminal activities, declaring that there is no place for crime and criminality.
