OPay users can now check whether they qualify for the Federal Government’s ₦50,000 relief under the National Emergency Relief and Stabilisation Intervention (NERSI).
The company said eligible customers will see a new pop-up notification on their OPay app homepage. Tap it and follow the instructions.
However, the support is not available to every customer. OPay does not determine eligibility. Beneficiaries are selected by the government using verified identity records and the National Social Register.
NERSI supports vulnerable households facing rising living costs. Selected beneficiaries will receive ₦50,000 monthly through approved providers, including OPay, ALAT, MoMo PSB, NairaGram and Moniepoint.
Beneficiaries must consent before payment. The grant is free, requires no repayment, application or registration fee.
The ministry warned Nigerians not to pay agents or share their PIN, Bank Verification Number (BVN) or one-time password (OTP).
How to check on the app
Open OPay and look for the “₦50,000 NERSI Relief for You” banner. Tap “Go” and follow the instructions. Alternatively, dial *955*20# to check eligibility. If no notification appears, you may not have been selected. For assistance, call 0700-022-2222.
