The National Universities Commission (NUC) has approved the Faculty of Law at Federal University Dutse (FUD) to commence academic activities and approved the full-time mode for 30 new programmes, beginning in the 2026/2027 academic session.
This was contained in a letter dated 11th September 2026, with reference number NUC/AP/F33/VOL.II/15, signed by the Director, Academic Planning, NUC, Abubakar M. Girei, and sent to the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Ahmad Mohammed Gumel.

The VC Prof. Gumel highlighted that this development marks an important step forward in his initiative to mount new academic programmes.
He explained that the new programmes are specifically designed to address the evolving educational needs of society as the courses focus on critical areas such as technology, science education, and health-related disciplines.
