
A Nigerian man has revealed why his colleague refused to embark on annual leave for 17 years.
In a now-viral post on X (formerly Twitter), the man revealed that the company’s management had insisted the employee take a break.


Man’s Post Raises Eyebrows
Identified as @abdoullmuhd on X, the man revealed that his colleague was always the first to take extra shifts and stayed until the end.
“Management practically had to force him to take public holidays. He was always the first to volunteer for extra shifts and the last person to leave the office”,He added.
Meanwhile, after collapsing at work and being rushed to the hospital, the HR ordered his family be contacted.
However, during the process, the company discovered the employee had been a widower for 17 years.
In a tragic turn of events, his wife had passed away during childbirth on the same day he started at the company.
Meanwhile, the baby girl survived and the man had promised his wife he’d give their daughter the life they dreamt of.
Moreover, the discovery left co-workers overwhelmed in tears.
”Before she passed away, she held his hand and made him promise her one thing, Give her the life we dreamed of, no matter how hard it gets.He kept that promise“, The tweet reads in part.
