The Nigeria Immigration Service, NIS, has announced the migration of 10 additional passport offices to the Central Passport Personalization Centre, effective Monday, August 10, 2026.
This was contained in an internal circular dated August 3, 2026, signed by TO Olaiya, Assistant Comptroller-General, Passport and Other Travel Documents, on behalf of the Comptroller-General of Immigration.
According to the circular addressed to all affected Command Comptrollers, PCOs and Attaches, the move is part of efforts to streamline passport production and improve efficiency.
The 10 passport centres migrated are spread across the North and South-South regions. They include: Farm Centre, Kano; Dawakin Kudu, Kano; Jalingo, Taraba; Gombe; Yola, Adamawa and Bauchi in the North.
In the South-South, the centres migrated are Port Harcourt, Rivers; Uyo, Akwa Ibom; Calabar, Cross River and Yenagoa, Bayelsa.
The circular directed that with effect from August 10, 2026, all passport booklets for the listed centres will be produced at the Central Passport Personalization Centre in Abuja and dispatched to the respective offices for issuance.
Command Comptrollers have also been instructed to ensure that produced passports are delivered directly to the centres.
The NIS said the measure is aimed at centralizing production, reducing delays, and ensuring uniformity in passport issuance nationwide.
Applicants who applied at any of the 10 centres are advised to expect their passports to be processed centrally before being sent back to their chosen office for collection.
