NDLEA intercepts truck with 1,179kg of cannabis on Kaduna-Kano expressway

Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, Kaduna State Command, have intercepted a truck loaded with cannabis sativa along the Kaduna-Kano expressway.

The Command’s Public Relations Officer, S. Garba ASN, disclosed this in a statement on Wednesday.

According to the statement, the seizure was made acting on intelligence report. During the operation, NDLEA operatives intercepted the truck and recovered 27 bags and 1,032 books of skunk weighing 1,179 kilograms.

The State Commander, CN Maijama’a Muhammad, commended officers and men of the Command for their “resilience, dedication and professionalism in the discharge of their duties.”

He said the Command remains resolute in its commitment to rid Kaduna State of illicit substances and drug trafficking, and the nation at large.

No arrest was announced in the statement.

The NDLEA has intensified interdiction operations on major highways across the North-West as part of efforts to disrupt the movement of illicit drugs into and out of the region.
