A mother has shared an emotional account of how her young son’s honesty helped him recover his missing pen after it was swapped by another pupil at school.
According to the woman, she arrived at her son’s school for pickup only to find him in tears.
The boy explained that another pupil had exchanged his brand-new pen, which had been purchased the previous day, with a half-empty one.
When he reported the incident to his teacher, she believed the other child and handed the new pen over to him.
Supervisor’s test settles dispute
Rather than simply replacing the pen, the mother said she decided to intervene because her son deserved to be heard. She asked him to call his teacher, who later involved the school supervisor after hearing her explanation.
Recounting the encounter, the mother said, “Go back inside and tell your teacher I want to see her.” She explained that she firmly maintained the half-empty pen could not belong to her son because she had bought him a new one just a day earlier.
She further narrated that the supervisor devised a simple test by presenting two similar pens and asking the boy to choose one.
