A business owner has reportedly ended his relationship after discovering that his girlfriend’s sister was allegedly stealing food items from his restaurant, sparking heated reactions online.
The story surfaced on X after a lady narrated how the restaurant owner became suspicious about the declining profits in his business despite spending heavily on restocking supplies every few weeks.
According to the post, the man usually spent more than ₦300,000 on foodstuffs every five weeks to keep the restaurant running smoothly.
However, he reportedly noticed that the revenue generated did not match the level of investment being made.
To uncover the cause of the losses, the businessman allegedly installed a personal CCTV camera in the restaurant without informing the workers.
CCTV reportedly reveals repeated theft
The lady claimed that the hidden camera captured his girlfriend’s sister, who worked at the restaurant, secretly packing food items into nylon bags and taking them away.
According to the narration, the incident did not happen only once.
The businessman reportedly continued monitoring the footage and allegedly discovered that the employee repeated the same act for three consecutive days.
After gathering enough evidence, he reportedly confronted his girlfriend and showed her the CCTV recordings before dismissing her sister from the job immediately.

However, instead of supporting the businessman’s decision, she allegedly accused him of being insensitive and unforgiving toward her family member.
The disagreement eventually led to the end of their relationship.
According to the X user, the businessman refused to apologise for his action and insisted that his business should not suffer because of personal relationships.
“He said his business has nothing to do with his relationship,” the lady wrote.
