- Hotel staff members dump body under Katampe bridge
The Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Police Command said it has uncovered details surrounding the lifeless body of a man found under the Katampe bridge in Abuja on August 26, 2026.
Investigation revealed that the deceased had lodged at a guest house in Gwarimpa with a married woman identified as Mrs Rukayat Muhammed of Garki Area 2.
According to police findings, the woman was in a romantic relationship with the deceased and had saved his number on her phone as “Safiyat.”
She allegedly discovered that the man was no longer breathing and had died in the hotel room, but instead of reporting the incident to the police, she took his mobile phone and fled the hotel.
The body was later discovered by the hotel management. However, rather than alerting the police, two hotel staff members identified as Ibrahim Omeiza and Kefat Bitrus allegedly removed the body from the hotel and dumped it under the Katampe bridge.
The FCT Police Command said the exact cause and circumstances of the man’s death remain under investigation. Itassured the public that anyone found culpable in the incident will face the law.
