The Federal High Court, Lagos, has commenced a phased relocation from its premises at No. 24, Oyinkan Abayomi Drive, Ikoyi, to its newly completed court complex at No. 1B, Bourdillon Road, Ikoyi, Lagos.
The relocation exercise commenced on July 31, 2026, following the completion of the state-of-the-art judicial complex, which is aimed at enhancing judicial administration and improving facilities for judges, lawyers, litigants and other court users.
In a public notice signed by the Chief Registrar of the Federal High Court, Yahaya Yakubu Shafa, the court said the relocation was approved following the completion of the new complex.
He explained that the move would be implemented in phases to ensure a smooth transition and minimise disruption to ongoing court proceedings and administrative operations.
Under the first phase of the arrangement, Vacation Courts 7 and 12, as well as Courts 2, 3, 4 and 5, have been relocated to the new Bourdillon Road facility.
Also affected in the initial phase are the offices of the Chief Registrar, Deputy Chief Registrars and the Electronic Litigation Registrar of Process (ELRP).
Shafa stated that the remaining courts and departments would be relocated subsequently as the exercise progressed.
The Chief Registrar said the notice was addressed to the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), litigants, stakeholders, the Lagos State Government and the general public, urging them to take note of the new address and make the necessary adjustments.
The court also assured stakeholders that further announcements would be made regarding the relocation of the remaining courts and offices.
