Dino Melaye has declared that President Bola Tinubu will not be saved in 2027 by intimidation, harassment or any court ruling, insisting the President’s time is up.
The former Kogi West senator made the declaration at the African Democratic Congress campaign rally in Kebbi on Thursday, saying no amount of pressure on the opposition would change the outcome of the presidential election.
“No amount of intimidation, harassment or court order will save Tinubu. Go he must,” Melaye said.
His remarks followed a Federal High Court judgment in Abuja that dismantled the David Mark-led leadership of the ADC and voided the process that produced Atiku Abubakar as the party’s presidential candidate for 2027.
Melaye framed the 2027 contest as a showdown between suffering Nigerians and the Federal Government, arguing that citizens have endured avoidable hardship over the past two years under Tinubu and know precisely what they want at the polls.

He described Justice Peter Lifu’s ruling as part of a broader design to frustrate Atiku and shrink the democratic space.
The court had declared the Mark-led National Working Committee illegal and nullified all decisions taken under it, including Atiku’s nomination, the emergence of Rauf Aregbesola as National Secretary, and the decisions taken at the party’s 99th National Executive Committee meeting of July 27, 2025.
It also ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission not to recognise or act on those decisions.
