Haaland fires Man City to 3-2 win over Leipzig

Manchester City produced an impressive performance to establish a 3-2 advantage over RB Leipzig in Wednesday’s UEFA Champions League encounter at the Red Bull Arena in Germany.

The encounter on Wednesday, November 4, 2026, provided an entertaining contest, with both sides displaying attacking quality in their battle for crucial points in the league phase.

Manchester City broke the deadlock in the 37th minute through an own goal by Leipzig defender Castello Lukeba, who inadvertently turned the ball into his own net while attempting to stop a dangerous cutback from Nico O’Reilly.

Despite enjoying considerable possession, City struggled to create clear-cut opportunities in the opening stages, as the German side threatened through quick attacking movements.

Leipzig responded after the interval, with Ridle Baku drawing the hosts level in the 49th minute after his delivery found its way into the City net.

The equaliser increased the pressure on Pep Guardiola’s men, but City quickly restored their advantage through Enzo Fernandez, who finished off an attacking move to make it 2-1.

Leipzig refused to surrender, however, and Antonio Nusa brought the home side level again with another goal, making it 2-2 and setting up a tense closing period.

With the contest finely balanced, City turned to their attacking quality to regain control, and Norwegian striker Erling Haaland delivered an important goal to put the visitors ahead 3-2.
