Nigerian actress Taiwo Akinwande, better known as Yetunde Wunmi, has shared her experience 20 years after being arrested for a drug-related offence.
Recall that, in September 2006, Wunmi was arrested for possessing cocaine at Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos by National Drug Law Enforcement Agency officers as she was travelling to Europe.
In an interview with Feel Right TV, Akinwande remembered her arrest and said she wondered how she found herself in that situation.
She explained that she used to have the gift of foresight but could not understand why it failed her when she needed it most. She also said she had dreamed about the incident twice.
Now, she sees her experience as divine protection from something worse and wonders whether a bigger tragedy was avoided.
Akinwande thanked God, promised not to repeat her mistake, and appreciated the support she got from friends and strangers alike.
“Before that incident that happened to me that caused my ban from entering London again, the day they arrested me, it got to a stage that I thought about it that ‘why me? How did I get here? Am I sleeping or dreaming?” she said.
“I used to have a gift at a time that I would have foreseen whatever would happen. I do not know why I no longer have that gift. I dreamt about the incident twice.
“Sometimes when I am driving, I used to think maybe my experience at the time was because God hid me from an evil that was to happen to me at the time. I would be thinking this car should just explode.
“It was around that period that the thing happened to me. I appreciated God. I said, what if a greater ordeal had happened to me? I also vowed to God that I would never do such again.
