Popular Nigerian media personality Frank Edoho has opened up about his early years and struggles in the entertainment industry.
The exceptional host revealed that he earned ₦160,000 monthly during his early years as the host of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire despite appearing wealthy on television.
Speaking during a seminar, the veteran TV host explained that although many people assumed he was extremely rich because of his appearance and status on the show, the reality behind the scenes was quite different.
Frank Edoho stated that he had to maintain a polished image by constantly wearing suits and carrying himself confidently in public, even when his earnings were not as massive as people imagined.
Speaking on the experience, he said:
“My first two years’ salary at the ‘Who Wants To Be A Millionaire’ show was ₦160k monthly, but I had to put on a suit and act like I owned all the money.
“But when MTN came on, I just said let me just give a figure to my boss, the owner of the show. If I should mention it, you all will suffocate, and he was like, ‘Okay, we’ll give you 3 months upfront.’”
He further explained that the breakthrough deal significantly changed his financial situation and marked a turning point in his career as a television presenter.
Many social media users reacted to his statement, with some saying appearances can be deceiving, while others praised him for staying consistent and eventually building a successful career.
Frank Edoho’s comments have once again highlighted the reality that many public figures often maintain certain lifestyles or appearances despite facing financial struggles behind closed doors.
