“I go just post you” — 18-year-old lady fumes over messages from older married men

A young lady has stirred widespread reactions on social media after publicly expressing frustration over what she described as repeated friendship requests from significantly older married men in her direct messages.

The 18-year-old, whose post has since circulated across multiple platforms, criticised the behaviour and warned that she would begin exposing anyone she believes is acting inappropriately by contacting her privately.

Lady expresses frustration over alleged direct messages

The lady said, “Old 45 years old married man dey ask me 18 years old girl can we be friends? Una be idiots. Any of you old people that come to my dm I go just dey post una face, I swear to God make una children see as una dey disgrace una selves.”

Her remarks quickly gained attention, with many social media users weighing in on the age gap she referenced and her decision to threaten to publish the identities of those who contacted her.

Some commenters supported her stance, arguing that married individuals should avoid sending such messages to much younger women, while others questioned whether publicly exposing people without additional context would be appropriate.

Social media users divided over her warning

... has since generated a lively debate online, with users discussing personal boundaries, respect in online interactions and the growing concern over unsolicited messages on social media platforms.

Although the identities of the individuals mentioned were not revealed, the lady’s comments have continued to fuel conversations about age differences, online etiquette and the responsibilities that come with using social media responsibly.
