A woman has triggered widespread reactions on social media after alleging that her husband secretly visited her friend every week to eat okra soup following an argument over the meal at home.
According to the woman, her husband loved okra soup, but she disliked it and therefore never cooked it.
During a visit from her friend, she suggested that the guest prepare the soup since both she and her husband enjoyed it.
After dinner, however, the husband reportedly thanked the friend, saying, “if not for you, I wouldn’t eat ‘good’ food tonight.” The woman said she felt hurt because she believed her own role in suggesting the meal had been overlooked.
Disagreement over okra soup takes unexpected turn
The woman said she challenged her husband, expecting him to appreciate her thoughtfulness, but he insisted she did not deserve gratitude because she was not the one who cooked the meal.
Angered by the exchange, she claimed she threw away the remaining soup, while her friend, upset by the incident, left the house the following morning.
According to the woman, she and her husband later reconciled and agreed there would be “no more okra” in their home.
