A Nigerian man has been left heartbroken after a discovery about the apartment he shares with his wife.
In a post on his X handle, @jaach-light revealed he was unaware his wife was the landlord of their apartment for over eight years.
Man Unknowingly Pays Rent To Wife
According to him, she remained calm and reassuring whenever rent was due.
In a devastating turn of events, he lost his job while expenses accumulated.
Meanwhile, his wife suggested they sell his vehicle or two plots of land he inherited, which he complied with.
“So I agreed.I sold the car first.Then the land followed.She handled everything. Even said she had a buyer already lined up.What I didn’t know was that she was the buyer. Not just for my things”, He added.

However, he was unaware his wife was the buyer of the two plots of land.
Sharing how he got aware about his wife’s acquisition, the man narrated, “Only found out when a letter arrived during one of our rent negotiations. Her lawyer was requesting eviction for, I thought it was a joke. By the time I traced everything, the car was gone.The land was gone”.
Upon confronting his wife, he was heartbroken over her response and sought clarity on whether to quit the marriage.
