A Nigerian lady has stirred reactions online after revealing why she intends to retain her father’s surname after marriage.
According to the lady, who praised her father, her decision stems from her family having no male child.

In the viral video posted on X (formerly Twitter), the lady disclosed that she could hyphenate her father’s surname with her husband’s name, while her sisters have decided to follow suit.
According to her, she intends to continue her father’s legacy and hopes her partner accepts her decision.
”I want to maintain my father’s surname . We are all girls in my family. I just want to keep it in remembrance that there’s a man who is so great”, She stated, while commending her father’s outstanding qualities.
Speaking further, the lady disclosed that she’s aware marital crises stem from surname disagreements among couples.
