This was revealed in a statement issued by the Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Anietie Okokon Edem Iniedu, on Thursday, June 25, 2026.
According to the statement, AIG Morris visited Kawel Community in Mushere District, Bokkos Local Government Area, on Tuesday, June 23, where he met with community leaders, traditional rulers and other key stakeholders as part of efforts to evaluate the security situation and strengthen measures aimed at restoring peace in the area.
During the visit, the AIG conveyed the condolences of the Inspector-General of Police and the Force Management Team to families affected by the attacks. He assured residents that the Nigeria Police Force remains determined to ensure those behind the violence are apprehended and brought to justice.
He stated that all lawful measures are being employed to track down the perpetrators and prevent any recurrence of such attacks.
The statement further disclosed that the deployment of additional security personnel and assets to Plateau State was carried out on the directive of the Inspector-General of Police. The reinforcement is expected to bolster ongoing operations in Bokkos and surrounding communities, improve security presence and support efforts to restore normalcy.
AIG Morris also urged residents to remain peaceful, law-abiding and avoid any form of reprisal that could jeopardize ongoing efforts to maintain peace and security in the area.
As part of his visit, the senior police officer paid courtesy calls on the Governor of Plateau State, Barr. Caleb Mutfwang, and the Gbong Gwom Jos, His Royal Majesty Da Jacob Gyang Buba, CFR. During the meetings, he conveyed the condolences of the Force leadership and reaffirmed the commitment of the Nigeria Police Force to working closely with the state government to tackle security challenges across Plateau State.
The police reiterated their commitment to collaborating with relevant stakeholders and other security agencies to safeguard lives and property, enhance public safety and promote lasting peace in Plateau State and across the country.
