A Nigerian broadcaster, Emem Isong, has sparked widespread reactions online after sharing a strong message on Facebook about love, financial stability, and emotional responsibility in relationships.
Her post, which quickly went viral, focused on the emotional strain some women experience when involved with men who lack direction, financial stability, or discipline.
The message has since generated debate across social media platforms, with users divided over its tone and content.
Emotional toll of unstable relationships
In the post, Emem Isong described a situation where women gradually lose themselves while trying to support struggling partners.
She explained that relationships can begin with hope and emotional support but later turn into stress-filled experiences.
She wrote: “You ever seen a woman lose herself trying to love a man who had nothing to give her but stress? I have. And it’s ugly.”
She further noted that such situations often lead to emotional exhaustion, stating that many women begin with patience and belief, but end up overwhelmed by responsibilities they did not expect.
Strong warning on financial responsibility
The broadcaster did not hold back in her criticism of men who pursue relationships without financial or personal stability. She argued that love alone is not enough to sustain a healthy partnership.
According to her post: “A man with no money, no plan, no discipline has no damn business chasing love.”
She added that some men unfairly expect women to support them while they attempt to figure out their lives, describing such expectations as unhealthy and unfair.
Call for self-awareness in relationships
Emem Isong also emphasised that men should evaluate what they bring into relationships before pursuing love. She stressed the importance of peace, stability, and emotional safety.
She stated: “If you can’t provide peace, protection, or progress—leave her alone.”
She warned that dragging a partner into personal chaos often leads to long-term emotional damage rather than growth.
