The Iba of Kishi and paramount ruler of Kishi land, His Royal Majesty, Oba (Engr.) Moshood Oyekola Aweda Lawal, Arowoduye II, has endorsed the candidacy of Hon. Shina Peller for the Oyo North Senatorial District seat in the 2027 general elections.
The monarch gave the endorsement on Friday when Peller, the Allied Peoples’ Movement (APM) senatorial candidate, led a delegation of party executives and supporters to his palace in Irepo Local Government Area of Oyo State.
According to a statement by Kola Popoola, SSA on Media and Publicity, Peller was accompanied by his mother, Alhaja Silifat Abeo Abiola Peller, popularly known as Lady Peller, alongside other party executives and loyalists.
The visit also had a family connection, as Lady Peller is a daughter of Kishi. She was born to the late Alhaji Soliu Ali, who was widely respected as Kiniun Adini and served as one of the prominent Chief Imams of Kishi Land.
The monarch welcomed Peller and offered prayers and royal blessings for his aspiration.

Speaking at the palace, Peller said his background and connections across Oyo North placed him in a position to understand the interests of the district’s different communities.
He explained that his father was from Oke-Ogun I, while his mother was from Oke-Ogun II, Kishi, and that he obtained his undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in the Ogbomoso axis.
Peller also pointed to his previous legislative experience, saying it would help him understand and represent the interests of the 13 local government areas that make up Oyo North.
The former member of the House of Representatives said he had the legislative experience required to begin work immediately if elected to the Senate.
Peller represented the Iseyin/Itesiwaju/Kajola/Iwajowa Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives from 2019 to 2023. He declared his intention to contest the Oyo North senatorial seat under the APM in August 2026.
The senatorial candidate said his legislative experience would be deployed towards addressing issues affecting the district and pursuing development initiatives for its communities.
The endorsement comes as political activities intensify across Oyo North ahead of the 2027 elections, with Peller and other APM candidates already engaging party structures across the district.
