Nollywood actress Uche Ogbodo’s sister, Ogbodo Sochima, has publicly blasted her estranged husband, Bobby Maris, amid their ongoing marital crisis.
Taking to social media, Sochima accused her former partner of causing her emotional pain during their marriage, alleging that she endured several challenges before deciding to walk away from the relationship.
According to her, she remained committed to making the marriage work despite the difficulties, but eventually realised that staying any longer would only affect her peace of mind.
In her words, she said:
“I tried my best to make the marriage work, but there comes a time when you have to choose yourself and your peace over everything else.”
The mother of one further accused Bobby Maris of attempting to manipulate public perception about the breakdown of their marriage, insisting that she would no longer remain silent about her experience.
She maintained that she has chosen to focus on healing and moving forward with her life, rather than dwelling on the past.
“You can tell your own story, and I will tell mine. I owe nobody an explanation for choosing peace over pain,” she added.
The latest outburst comes barely a day after Bobby Maris fuelled speculation about trouble in their marriage with a cryptic social media post, stating that not every woman’s head is fit to wear the crown of a wife.
Fans also noticed that the couple had unfollowed each other on Instagram, further intensifying rumours of a separation.
The exchange has continued to stir conversations on social media, with many Nigerians sharing differing opinions on marriage, and separation and the importance of protecting one’s mental health.
