A UK-based Nigerian man identified as Franklyn, known on X as @phranklie1, has gone viral after sharing a lengthy account of an alleged relationship betrayal that he says left him emotionally and financially devastated.
He shared this in reaction to a recent post by a London-based Nigerian man who revealed that his wife was cheating on him.
According to Franklyn, he supported his former partner’s relocation to the United Kingdom by assisting with her IELTS preparation, NMC registration, dissertation, and job process. He claimed he also sponsored family-related activities and supported her transition abroad financially and emotionally.
The man alleged that the relationship later deteriorated after he discovered conversations suggesting she was involved with another man.
He further claimed that following a confrontation, she reported him to the police, resulting in legal troubles that allegedly led to the loss of his visa status, court appearances, financial strain, and emotional trauma.
Franklyn said the experience forced him into therapy and left him battling panic attacks, while also affecting his finances, career, and personal stability.
Despite expressing deep pain over the situation, he noted that he wishes her well and does not want to hold onto hatred.

“Lol, i brought mine to 🇬🇧, we did her NMC registration, we practiced for her Ielts, did her dissertation, got her a job, she got COS, brought her parents for her graduation, she reportd me 2 the police that i hit her cos of another man in ManC, i lost my 5yr visa. Stay strong”
He added:
“I saw another man tell someone i was in a 5yrs relationship with that he misses how soft her bum was. That he couldn’t wait to thrust his D in her again. Yet she always lied about it. It broke me.
“I would be at work and she would be on call with different men in my bed. Sold some of my properties including a house in Lagos to afford legal fees just to not go to jail.
“The first time in my life I slept in a police cell with cuffs. I remember my friends calling the guy in Manchester to beg her to withdraw her statement, the idiot said ‘No, what if i had killed his girlfriend’.
“Instagram, TikTok had always been suggesting the guy’s page to me but i always ignored.
“I now have a criminal record because of someone i have loved with all my heart. And what hurts the most is that i wouldn’t do that to her even in my highest point of pain.
“The betrayal hurts so much. She broke up with me, my parents called her severally to understand what the issue was because me sef shock.
“She said i didn’t trust her hence why. I went to therapy because i thought i was the problem cos i found it hard to trust her after she cheated with multiple men while in Nigeria in 2023.
“Was dragged in and out of court like a criminal because of the good i had done to someone i saw a future with.
“I lost my insurance, police destroyed my home because she reported and they were looking for me and I’m still paying for the damages worth over 4k.
“The day i confronted her, tried so much to hold my pain and anger but i messed up by cutting the gold necklace i got her and tore her shirt out of anger. Never hit her cos i don’t hit women.
“She saw me fast and pray everyday, join hallelujah challenge every night, drive 3hrs each morning and 3hrs back to office in a different city each day because of COS.
“Suddenly someone i would have moved heaven and earth for thought she doesn’t need me anymore because i had just applied for her visa and she is now settled.
“She swore on her life that no other man was in the picture.
“I’ve lost almost everything I’ve built because of someone i loved with my whole life. I still have panic attacks every night because of the pain and betrayal.
“This person never struggled with anything when i brought her here. This is a family that i contributed money for their family functions. We all celebrated Christmas with her parents here last year.
“I screen recorded the messages. I think i still have a screenshot of one of their chat somewhere in me and my friends chat because it pained my heart to see the whole messages.
“The guy must think he has hit a jackpot with her.
“I wish her all the best in life because the hate in my heart would destroy me if I don’t.”
