The Lagos State Police Command has arraigned two brothers, Alao Kunle Emmanuel, 27, and Alao Victor Ifeoluwa, 24, before the Magistrate Court sitting at Ikeja over alleged conspiracy and obtaining the sum of N17,050,000 under false pretence for iPhone purchase.
The defendants were arraigned in Charge No. MIK/6/2026 between the Commissioner of Police versus Alao Kunle Emmanuel and Alao Victor Ifeoluwa.
The case came up before Magistrate Mr. L.A. Owolabi.
The Prosecutor, SP Josephine Ihkayere, told the court that the alleged offence was committed on 25th October, 2025 at about 2am at No. 50, Odejayi Crescent, Surulere, Lagos State, within the Magisterial District.
According to the charge sheet approved by the Directorate of Public Prosecutions, DPP, Lagos State Ministry of Justice, the two brothers were alleged to have conspired among themselves to commit felony to wit stealing.
Count one stated that Alao Kunle Emmanuel and Alao Victor Ifeoluwa on the said date conspired among themselves to commit felony to wit stealing, contrary to Section 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
Count two alleged that the duo obtained the sum of Seventeen Million Fifty Thousand Naira only (N17,050,000.00), owned by one Faruq Bamidele for the purchase of iPhone, contrary to Section 399 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
Count three alleged that they conspired and used bank accounts including an Opay account and a Guarantee Trust Bank account to fraudulently obtain the said sum, contrary to Section 411 and punishable under Section 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
The charge was signed by the Police and the case file was handled by IPO Inspector Afolabi Adejoke, Area F.
After the charge was read, the defendants pleaded not guilty.
The Prosecutor, SP Josephine Ihkayere, did not oppose bail,rather asked the Court to give a date for hearing to enable the Police to prove the allegations.
In his ruling, Magistrate L.A. Owolabi granted the defendants bail with two sureties who must show evidence of means of livelihood and evidence of tax payment.
The Magistrate ordered that the defendants be remanded in the Correctional Centre at Kirikiri Town, Lagos, pending when they will perfect their bail conditions.
The matter was adjourned for further hearing.
The complainant, Faruq Bamidele, had alleged that he transferred N17,050,000 to the defendants for the supply of iPhones, but the phones were not supplied and the money was not refunded.
The Police said the defendants will face prosecution in accordance with the law.
However, the defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty by the Court of competent jurisdiction.
