President Bola Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Media and Public Communication, Sunday Dare, has pushed back against mounting criticism of the administration, arguing that Nigerians were never promised an instant transformation of the country.
Dare made the position known on Monday while responding to opposition attacks on the President’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
According to the presidential aide, critics of the administration have largely built their political messaging around condemning Tinubu’s policies rather than presenting alternative ideas or a clear programme for governing the country.
He accused the opposition of focusing on the outcome of the Renewed Hope reforms while failing to offer Nigerians a distinct blueprint for addressing the country’s challenges.
“Campaigning against the results and impact of the Renewed Hope Agenda is now their stock in trade. No original ideas. No blueprint,” Dare wrote in a post on X.
The presidential aide also rejected the suggestion that Tinubu had promised Nigerians that the country’s problems would be completely resolved within his first three years in office.
“President Tinubu did not promise Eldorado in 3 years. No country solved its challenges in 4 years. It’s always a journey,” he stated.
Dare maintained that the administration’s economic decisions should be viewed within the context of what he described as an ongoing effort to rebuild the foundations of the Nigerian economy.
He argued that despite criticisms from opposition figures, the government would continue highlighting what it considers the achievements and impact of its policies.
“The opposition continues to attack the successful and bold decisions of President Tinubu. We will continue to point the results out and defend them,” he said.
The presidential aide further accused those seeking to unseat Tinubu of being driven primarily by an ambition to gain political power, rather than having concrete proposals capable of addressing Nigeria’s economic challenges.

“We will make Nigerians understand deeply that the rebuilding of the pillars of our economy is ongoing and those eager to gain power are desperadoes who have nothing to offer except their greed for power,” Dare added.
His comments come amid growing political exchanges over the performance of the Tinubu administration and the direction of the country ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Dare concluded his post by thanking an individual identified as Ada, whose comments he said had exposed issues the opposition would rather keep hidden.
“Thank you, Ada, for the bitter truth spoken. But more for the light you have brought to what they want to hide,” he wrote.
