Tinubu Departs for Saudi Arabia to Perform Umrah, Pray for Nigeria

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will leave Abuja on Thursday for Makkah, in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, to perform Umrah, an Islamic religious exercise that involves a pilgrimage to the Holy City.

This was announced by Bayo Onanuga, the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, in a statement issued on Wednesday.

Onanuga stated that the trip would provide the President with an opportunity for spiritual contemplation, worship, and “prayers for Nigeria’s peace, unity, stability, and continued progress.”

The statement noted that during his stay in Makkah, President Tinubu would observe the religious rites associated with Umrah, seeking Allah’s guidance and blessings for Nigeria and its citizens.

The President is also expected to inaugurate some equipment acquired by the Nigerian Air Force for its operations on Thursday.

“Before leaving Abuja, President Tinubu will commission at the Presidential Wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe Airport some equipment acquired by the Nigerian Air Force for its operations,” the statement read.

Onanuga added that the President is expected to return to Nigeria next week.
