President Bola Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, has accused the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential candidate, Peter Obi, of making statements he does not practise.
Onanuga, who sarcastically described Obi as a “saint,” accused him of misleading his supporters.
Obi had stated that if leaders had kept public funds in banks, Nigeria would be very wealthy today and would not know what to do with all the money.
Reacting, Onanuga referenced the Panama Papers, alleging that Obi had concealed offshore accounts and business interests while serving as governor of Anambra State.
He wrote: “Peter Obi likes to say things he doesn’t actually do. Remember the Panama Papers?
“Peter Obi had undeclared offshore assets and business holdings when he was Anambra governor, as shown in the global leak reports.
“And here, Saint Peter is giving his opinion, fooling his followers.”
