A light-hearted but surprising incident has been shared online involving a tenant and his neighbours after a compound meeting reportedly took an unexpected turn over personal hygiene concerns.
According to a man who recounted the experience, tension had been building in the compound due to one resident’s habit of rarely bathing.
He said the situation became noticeable during meetings, where neighbours often struggled with discomfort and tried to create space or improve ventilation.

The matter reportedly escalated to the point where one female tenant began bringing perfume to meetings in an attempt to manage the unpleasant smell in the environment.
Frustrated by the recurring issue, residents eventually raised the complaint formally during a meeting with the landlord present.
It was during this session that the landlord confronted the man directly, asking him why he did not maintain regular bathing habits.
What followed, according to the narration, left those present stunned.
The man reportedly stood up calmly, adjusted his clothing, and responded in a philosophical tone, saying: “The reason I don’t bath is because if water can kill fire… who am I?”
The unusual response reportedly left the landlord and other tenants momentarily speechless, with no immediate reply as the meeting came to an awkward but quiet pause.
