British model and television personality Katie Price has reportedly ended her marriage to Lee Andrews, just eight months after the couple tied the knot.
The development was announced on Tuesday, with reports claiming that Katie decided to divorce Lee after allegedly discovering that his financial situation was very different from what she had been led to believe.
According to the reports, Lee had previously claimed to have £37 million, but his bank account allegedly contained just £2.22 when Katie checked.
Katie had reportedly been warned by people close to her not to marry Lee, but she chose to go ahead with the relationship because she was deeply in love with him.
Family members are said to believe that Katie may have already lost tens of thousands of pounds during the relationship. However, they claim she is reluctant to admit that she may have been deceived by the Dubai-based businessman, who reportedly once claimed he was planning to buy Chelsea Football Club.
Friends also alleged that Katie spent heavily on the relationship, including buying Lee expensive gifts and paying for numerous trips between the UK and Dubai, as well as luxury hotel stays.
According to those close to her, the total cost of the trips and other expenses may have exceeded £100,000. It was also claimed that Katie transferred money to Lee after some of his business ventures reportedly experienced financial difficulties.
Behind closed doors, family members reportedly believe Katie is devastated and embarrassed by the situation.
One family member said: “She doesn’t like to be alone
“So be prepared to see her out on the party circuit to put on a show to say to those wanting that she doesn’t care but deep down she will be hurting.”
Katie has previously been married three times. In 2019, she reportedly demanded that her former husbands, Peter Andre and Kieran Hayler, repay her for the £2 million she claimed to have spent on them during their relationships.
The final message Katie reportedly sent to Lee reflected her feelings about the breakdown of their relationship.
She wrote: “I have been played and you are not who you say you are. Why have you lied to me?”
