After years of distance, public disagreements and a friendship that appeared to have run its course, Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo and celebrity fashion designer Toyin Lawani have seemingly turned the page on their long-standing feud.
Iyabo confirmed the reconciliation on Thursday after sharing photos of herself with Toyin on Instagram, accompanied by a message reflecting on the realities of friendship.
Tagging Toyin’s fashion brand, the actress wrote: “Life taught us that real friendships aren’t perfect, they are real. We had our moment apart, but real friendship always finds its way back.”
The reunion marks a notable turnaround for two women who were once closely associated with each other and were also part of the cast of The Real Housewives of Lagos.
Iyabo and Toyin were once regarded as close friends, but their relationship reportedly became strained around 2022 following a disagreement that eventually played out publicly.
The fallout was linked to Toyin’s relationship with fellow celebrity Laura Ikeji, who had previously been involved in disagreements with Iyabo.
At the height of the dispute, Iyabo questioned Toyin’s closeness to Laura and accused her of discussing matters behind her back.
Toyin, in turn, openly expressed support for Laura, further widening the gap between the two women.
What had previously been a private friendship dispute soon became visible to their followers, particularly after both celebrities unfollowed each other on Instagram.
Their estrangement did not stop at social media.
The absence of Toyin from some public celebrations involving Iyabo’s daughter, Priscilla, also drew attention, especially given the close relationship Toyin had previously maintained with the family.
For years, the friendship that had once appeared strong remained fractured, with neither woman giving the public a clear indication that a reconciliation was imminent.
