Popular content creator battles life after being stabbed in Lagos

TikTok influencer and filmmaker Joseph Prince, popularly known as Joffy, is currently battling for his life after he was allegedly attacked and injured by street touts during a promotional outing for his upcoming film, The Last Bell.

Joffy’s management, in an official statement, disclosed the incident via Joffy’s verified TikTok account, @josephprincengg, amid widespread rumours on social media claiming that the filmmaker had died.

According to the statement, Joffy and members of his production team were returning from a promotional ticket-sales campaign for The Last Bell and were documenting their activities when they were confronted by a group of street touts who allegedly demanded money.

The production team claimed that the situation escalated after the demand was refused, leading to a violent altercation. During the incident, production equipment was reportedly seized, a cast member’s phone was taken, and another team member was assaulted.

“During the altercation, Joseph Prince (Joffy) sustained a stab injury, while other members of the team also suffered injuries and emotional trauma,” the statement read.

The management of Joseph Prince Films strongly refuted reports suggesting that Joffy had died, describing the claims as false and misleading.

“We wish to state unequivocally that these reports are false. Joseph Prince (Joffy) is alive and is currently receiving medical treatment,” the statement added.

In the wake of the incident, the filmmakers announced that the release of their forthcoming movie, The Last Bell, has been postponed indefinitely as the immediate focus remains on the recovery and well-being of those affected.

The management also thanked members of the public for their prayers, concern and support, while urging people to refrain from spreading unverified information. It noted that updates regarding Joffy’s condition and the film project would be communicated only through Joseph Prince Films’ official platforms.
