The media personality’s kids, who reportedly exited the scene of his self-harm attempt during a TikTok live stream, were reportedly in the know about his health crisis weeks before it happened.
Perez Hilton has reportedly now voluntarily decided to hand over his three kids to his mother, Teresita Lavandeira, who has lived with the kids for a while.
Sources close to the blogger’s family shared that his three kids are not oblivious to his mental health challenges, as it has been thoroughly explained to them before the TikTok incident.
The children have also been in the house witnessing previous emotional outbursts when Hilton had gone live on social media to share his health struggles with his followers.
Lavandeira, who has reportedly been a regular presence around the kids, has been playing the caretaker role and will continue to provide them with consistency and familiarity as Hilton’s health continues to improve.
As shared by TMZ, Hilton has signed a consent form that would allow his mother to make medical and dental decisions for the kids, have access to important records, and also enroll them in school.
The latest report from Hilton’s family confirmed that he has remained hospitalized under Florida’s Baker Act, and he would need surgery for the injuries sustained during the crisis.

She asked that the custody case be sealed and the children should not be subjected to further trauma related to the incidents which warranted the petition. She added that keeping the case out of the reach of the public will set the family on the path of healing and progress.
Earlier in the year, the celebrity blogger relocated his kids from Los Angeles to Miami to be closer to his family after he suffered a medical crisis that left him hospitalized for nearly three weeks. Hilton first entered fatherhood in 2013 and expanded his family years later when he welcomed two kids through surrogacy.

Hilton’s account was also subsequently banned on a permanent basis after it was discovered that his actions violated community guidelines that prohibited acts of self-harm.
