Lindsie Chrisley’s ‘Safe And Loving’ Ex Indicted Over Alleged Assault

The criminal process involving Lindsie Chrisley’s former boyfriend, David Landsman, has now moved to a more serious stage.

A Cherokee County grand jury has indicted Landsman on multiple charges connected to an alleged confrontation involving the reality star, including aggravated assault, false imprisonment and battery.

The court allegations describe an encounter that investigators say left Chrisley with physical injuries, while her representative has made clear that she does not intend to publicly revisit what happened.

The latest development puts Landsman at the center of a criminal case involving four charges. A Cherokee County grand jury indicted him on August 10 on two counts of aggravated assault, one count of false imprisonment and battery, according to court records obtained by PEOPLE.

The charges relate to an alleged April 10 encounter involving Chrisley. Prosecutors allege that Landsman applied pressure to her throat and neck and then “forcibly throwing her and slamming her to the ground.”

The indictment states that the alleged incident resulted in a head laceration and describes other claimed injuries as “substantial physical harm,” including bruising and bleeding.

The indictment represents a new stage in a case that began with Landsman’s arrest in April. He was initially booked into the Cherokee County Jail at the time, according to an arrest warrant affidavit obtained by PEOPLE.

Chrisley Is Choosing Not To Discuss The Case

As the case becomes more detailed through court documents, Chrisley has taken the opposite approach publicly.

Rather than describing the alleged encounter herself, she has chosen to remain largely silent while the legal proceedings take their course.

A representative for Chrisley explained that the former reality TV star “did not contact law enforcement regarding this matter and is focused on herself and her family during this incredibly difficult and deeply personal time.”

Her representative also asked for privacy while the legal process moves forward, saying, “Out of respect for the ongoing legal process, she will not be commenting further on the circumstances at this time.”

The most serious allegations against Landsman center on what investigators say happened during the April confrontation.

According to the arrest affidavit, Landsman allegedly put his right hand around the victim’s neck, “applied pressure” and told the person they were “not going anywhere.”

The document also alleged that he pushed the person out of a house in Woodstock, Georgia.

The alleged victim reportedly fell backward and struck their head against concrete, resulting in blood coming from the head “due to a laceration caused by the fall.”

Investigators subsequently charged Landsman with aggravated assault based on allegations that he used an object, device, or instrument in a manner that was likely to or did result in strangulation.

Chrisley And Landsman Agree To Stay Apart

The end of Lindsie Chrisley and Landsman’s relationship eventually resulted in a formal agreement designed to keep the former couple apart.

In May 2026, The Blast reported that the two had reached a mutual no-contact order following their breakup, requiring each of them to remain at least 500 yards away from the other person, their homes, and their workplaces.

The agreement also settled a more personal dispute involving Oliver, the dachshund the couple shared. Chrisley was awarded custody of the dog, meaning Oliver would remain with her after the split.

The development came after the pair had reportedly been together for about two years and had previously sparked considerable attention over their relationship.

Their romance had also appeared headed toward marriage, making the eventual separation particularly notable.

The seriousness of Chrisley and Landsman’s relationship was evident in an earlier milestone, when Landsman reportedly went to the 36-year-old’s estranged father, Todd, seeking his blessing to marry her.

In an Instagram story posted in March, Landsman shared a photo of Chrisley’s engagement ring along with a message to her father, writing, “@toddchrisley may I have your daughter’s hand in marriage?”

A report from TMZ described the request as an old-fashioned tradition. Chrisley and Landsman had also fueled marriage speculation in 2025 when she temporarily changed her Instagram surname from Chrisley to Landsman, although she clarified at the time that they were not married.

Speaking on her “Southern Tea” podcast at the time, Lindsie said, “We are not married. [We] have built a safe and loving relationship that allows for stability in my life and in Jackson’s life.”

She added, “For a long time, I battled with carrying my maiden last name. Choosing to change my name to Landsman truly was about reclaiming my peace and stepping into my future that is defined by love.
