A Nigerian man has shared details of how he crossed paths with Fireboy DML while at the university.
In a now-viral X post, the man claimed he was the singer’s roommate and friend for three years at Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU).

Identified as @ayo-solace on X, (formerly Twitter), the man recounted how they crossed paths at the university.
According to the X user, he was on his way to church with a friend when he bumped into Fireboy DML, who was returning from the studio.
Recalling the singer’s early music career, he disclosed that Fireboy DML was always at the studio, prompting him to request a photo.
Man Reflects On Fireboy’s Music Career
In the widely circulated tweet, the man expressed excitement over Fireboy DML’s music journey, emphasizing that he has not yet reached his peak ability.
“I was very certain that the world would eventually hear him sing cause he good die. I am super proud of his journey so far, and I still believe we haven’t witnessed his full potential yet”, He stated.
Fireboy’s Rise To Fame
Signed to YBNL Records in 2017, his breakout single, Jealous dropped in 2019.
The song dominated radio channels, generated 10 million streams in 18 months, and caught the attention of music industry icons.
However, this led to the release of his debut album Laughter, Tears and Goosebumps in 2019, which earned him several awards, including Best R&B Album and Best Pop Album at The Headies.
