Our Zero Tolerance For Crime Cannot Be Compromised – Jigawa CP

Jigawa State Police Commissioner, Mr Haruna Yahaya said the command’s zero tolerance for crime and criminality cannot be compromised.

Yahaya said this during an interactive session with newsmen yesterday in Dutse.

He particularly decried the trend, where criminals beat fellow humans to death with sticks.

“I wish to reiterate our unequivocal zero tolerance against crime and criminality, especially beating human beings with sticks meant for animals.

“This is unacceptable and we are launching a vigorous campaign against it because it has led to too many deaths,” Yahaya said.

He assured residents that the command remained guided by the principles of rule of law and respect for human rights.

He called on the public to remain vigilant and security conscious and assist the command with credible, timely and actionable intelligence to the police and other security agencies.

“Public support remains a critical force multiplier in our collective quest to maintain the peace, stability and order,” Yahaya said.

The CP further promised that the command would not relent in its commitment to safeguarding the lives and property of residents as well as upholding the sanctity of law and order in the state.

“Let me reaffirm with utmost sense of duty and responsibility that the Jigawa State Police Command remains resolute, proactive and strategically positioned to confront and decisively neutralise all forms of criminality within the state.

“The command shall continue to deepen its operational capacity through intelligence gathering, strategic deployment of personnel, community-based policing and sustained raids on criminal enclaves,” the police boss said.

According to him, the effort is aimed at ensuring that no criminal elements find safe haven in the state. (NAN)
