Political aide Ossai Ovie Success has criticised social media activist Verydarkman following the activist’s return to Nigeria amid speculation that he could be arrested.
In a statement shared online, Ossai Ovie Success argued that Verydarkman’s supporters were mobilised to the airport based on fears of a possible arrest that ultimately did not occur.
He claimed that the activist may have expected an arrest and the publicity that could come with it but was instead met with a different outcome.
Ossai further stated that if security agencies genuinely intended to arrest an individual, supporters gathered at the airport would not be able to prevent such action.
He expressed disappointment over the entire episode and questioned the necessity of the mobilisation.

“Verydarkman mobilized people to come to the airport to protect him from arrest, but he was in for a shock: nobody planned to arrest him.
He wanted to be arrested to trend and twist the narrative to look like he was being targeted for speaking against Tinubu’s second-term bid.
Guess what? He was disappointed.
But let it be known: if the authorities wanted to arrest VeryDarkMan, they would arrest him. None of the people he mobilized would have stopped it.
I am disappointed….”
