Orile-Owu seeks amenities, asks FG, Osun govt for help

The traditional ruler of Orile-Owu in Ayedaade Local Government Area of Osun State, Oba Daud Akinfalabi Lagbedu has appealed to the Osun State and federal governments to tar the roads from Apomu to Orile-Owu linking Araromi Owu to Ijebu Igbo in Ogun State.

Oba Akinfolabi made the call as part of the activities marking his 10th coronation anniversary and the celebration of the town’s annual Anlugbua Festival on Saturday.

The monarch also called for the rehabilitation of the Gbongan – Orile-Owu Road, saying this will go a long way to boost agricultural of the people of the community and in turn boost the economy of the state and Nigeria as a whole.

He also called on Owu sons and daughters at home and in the diaspora including Owu in Abeokuta and Owu-Ile to remember that Orile-Owu is their ancestral home and therefore they should come home to Orile Owu and lend their support.

Oba Akinfolabi said the town is blessed with human and natural resources, and that “the environment is highly conducive for agricultural and other forms of investments.”

The monarch said: “Again, I am begging the federal and state governments to please rehabilitate our township roads, especially the one from Apomu to Orile-Owu linking Araromi Owu to Ijebu Igbo in Ogun State.

“We also need our farmland roads graded because of the huge farm products that are coming from our town which can easily boost the country’s economy if there are good roads to bring them out.”

Oba Akinfalabi said he had been able to renovate the Orile-Owu palace and constructed a town hall and built the Divisional Police Headquarters with the support of his chiefs and the cooperation of Owu sons and daughters.

The Monarch used the medium to thanked those that have been coming to rejoice with him since a week long activities of his tenth anniversary celebration has commenced and also which those coming for the Anlugbua cultural festival on Saturday October 2026, safe trip to Orile-owu.

In a related development, the newly installed Babalaje of Orile-owu Chief Gbenga Akinware and the new Iyalaje chief Mrs Olasiji Adeola as well as some notable people in the town such as Prince Pastor Olutoye Olufemi, The chairman of Eleesan in Orile-owu prince Ijaduola Sikiru Ajibola, Prince Fatai Lekan Adejibi as well as the Overseer of Moyofade Micro Finance bank Orile-owu Mr Owalade David Olusayo have all expressed their profound appreciation to the Olowu of Orile-owu Oba Daud Akinfalabi Arole Ajibosin, their as well expressed their appreciation to all those that came to grace the occasion with them, praying that such a good thing will never sieze from their various homes.
