Leaders of Omadino Community in Warri South Local Government Area of Delta State have pledged their support for the smooth take-off of the Omadino campus of Federal Polytechnic, Orogun.
The community leaders expressed optimism that the conversion of the Omadino Model Technical College into a polytechnic campus would bring new development opportunities and create jobs for youths and other residents of the area.
They spoke in a statement appreciating Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for releasing the technical college to the Federal Ministry of Education for the establishment of the campus.
The assurance was jointly given by the Olare-Aja of Omadino Community, Pa Godfrey Oruru Edemadiden; Chairman, Omadino Management Committee, Mr Tuoyo Mogbeyiteren; Secretary, Council of Elders, Chief Sunny Yomere; and Youth President, Mr Joshua Ghereje.
The leaders said the community was ready to provide the necessary support to ensure a peaceful and successful commencement of academic activities at the campus.
They said the project would transform Omadino and its surrounding communities by creating employment opportunities, attracting economic activities and expanding access to higher education for young people.
The development followed a circular issued by the Delta State Ministry of Technical Education on Tuesday, August 18, notifying the Principal of Model Technical College, Omadino, of the governor’s approval for the conversion of the institution into the Omadino campus of Federal Polytechnic, Orogun.
The community leaders thanked the governor for the decision, describing it as a development that would have lasting benefits for Omadino and Delta State.
