Oyo State Government has declared Thursday, August 20, 2026, a work-free day to enable residents to celebrate this year’s Isese Day.
The declaration was made by the state Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde, in recognition of the cultural significance of Isese Day and its importance to the people of Oyo State.

The government, in a statement issued on Wednesday and signed by the Secretary to the Oyo State Government, Professor Musibau Babatunde, urged residents to use the occasion to pray for peace, unity and stability in the state and Nigeria at large.
The government further called on residents to use the celebration as an opportunity to seek divine intervention for the continued peace, unity and stability of the state and the country.
