Actress Toyosi Adesanya gives update on Ogogo’s cancer treatment

Nollywood actress Toyosi Adesanya has shared an update on the ongoing cancer treatment of her colleague, Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo.

Tribune Online reports that Ogogo’s family appealed for support after revealing that the actor is battling stage-four cancer.

Kira, one of Ogogo’s daughters, said the family discovered that her father had cancer about three weeks ago, adding that the condition had affected his abdomen.

She said some medical institutions had told the family that they could no longer administer chemotherapy to the actor and appealed for recommendations for alternative treatment options.

She also acknowledged the support of Solomon Adeola, senator representing Ogun West, who she said had been helping the family with medical bills.

Lima, another daughter, said Adeola had promised to continue supporting the family financially.

She also said Ogogo was not fit to be flown abroad for treatment, in response to a comment by socialite Yhemo Lee.

In a recent Instagram post, Adesanya said the senator had extended his support by recommending Ogogo to “top cancer specialists”.

The actress also expressed optimism about the actor’s upcoming procedure.

“Senator Yayi personally reached out to top cancer specialists, and we are grateful to learn that Ogogo has now been admitted to the operating theatre for treatment,” she wrote.

“We pray for a successful procedure, complete recovery, renewed strength and many more years of good health for our beloved Nollywood legend.

“A huge thank you to everyone who has prayed, offered suggestions, shared the appeal and shown concern for Ogogo. May God bless you all. Ogogo, we are standing with you. You will come out stronger!”

On Tuesday, some of Ogogo’s colleagues, including Femi Adebayo, Muyiwa Ademola and Bimbo Oshin, also lent their voices to the urgent treatment of the actor.
