Muslim Brotherhood-supporting Qatar mediating talks between Iran and US about reviving nuke deal

Despite tensions with Russia and sanctions against it, Joe Biden actually handed over the Iran nuke deal negotiations to Russia in March, and now he’s passing negotiations over to Qatar.

At the time of the Russian handover, the Washington Free Beacon reported that “Russia’s top state-controlled energy company,” Rosatom, was “set to cash in on a $10 billion contract to build out one of Iran’s most contested nuclear sites as part of concessions granted in the soon-to-be-announced nuclear agreement that will guarantee sanctions on both countries are lifted.”

With Biden completely out to lunch, Iran is now poised to continue to communicate about reviving the 2015 Iran deal, but not directly. Qatar, which has been warming up to Iran, will host the indirect talks at Iran’s behest.

It’s significant to note, meanwhile, that Tamara Cofman Wittes, Biden’s nominee for a top position at the U.S. Agency for International Development, “has a long history of praising Qatar, the oppressive Gulf state with a shoddy human rights record that includes restrictions on free expression and the criminalization of same-sex sexual conduct.” Qatar is a also major Muslim Brotherhood supporter.

It has also just emerged that Prince Charles accepted suitcases and shopping bags stuffed with $3.2 million in cash from a Qatari sheikh. The obvious question is: in exchange for what?

Some other problems with Qatar:

  • The Washington Post admitted that the Qatar Foundation used Jamal Khashoggi’s columns to spread propaganda.
  • Last year Qatar was discovered to be behind statements from American universities that were hostile to Israel.
  • Qatar actually funds Hamas, al Qaeda and Hizballah.

So imagine: this is the state Biden is engaging to help negotiate a revived 2015 Iran deal (following Russia’s profitable crack at it), a deal that was proven to be based on lies by Iran’s own admission.

America’s enemies are celebrating a windfall as Biden adds to his legacy as a global jester.

“Qatar to host indirect talks between Iran, US on reviving nuclear deal,” Reuters, June 27, 2022:

DUBAI, June 27 (Reuters) – Indirect talks between Iran and the United States will start on Tuesday in Qatar’s capital, the Iranian foreign ministry said on Monday, amid a push by the European Union to break a months-long impasse in negotiations to secure a 2015 nuclear pact.

Confirming the arch foes will meet in Doha this week, the U.S. State Department said Iran needed to decide to drop additional demands that go beyond the nuclear pact.

“Iran’s top nuclear negotiator Ali Bagheri Kani will travel to Doha on Tuesday for the nuclear talks,” Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson Naser Kanani told state news agency IRNA.

Earlier, a source briefed on the visit said that U.S. Special Envoy for Iran, Robert Malley, was expected to arrive in Doha on Monday and meet the Qatari foreign minister. An Iranian official also told Reuters that Iran’s Bagheri Kani, would be in Doha for the talks on Tuesday and Wednesday.

The Qatari government has yet to comment.

The pact appeared close to being secured in March when the EU invited foreign ministers representing the accord’s parties to Vienna to finalise an agreement after 11 months of indirect talks between Tehran and President Joe Biden’s administration.

But the talks have since been suspended, chiefly over Tehran’s insistence that Washington remove the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), its elite security force, from the U.S. Foreign Terrorist Organization list……..
