- Calls on Scholars to Promote Prophet Muhammad’s Teachings, Moral Values
Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, has called on Islamic scholars and the Muslim community to intensify prayers for peace, security and development in Katsina State and Nigeria.
Governor Radda made the call today at Government House, Katsina, while receiving Islamic scholars and Muslim community members who came to congratulate him on the Maulid of Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W.).
The Governor commended Muslims for honouring the Prophet through Maulid gatherings, Qasa’id recitations and other programmes highlighting his life and teachings.
He said the gatherings provide an opportunity to strengthen unity, peaceful coexistence and commitment to the values of Islam.
“We should use this occasion to intensify prayers for peace and security in our state and the country, while promoting the good character, teachings and values of the Holy Prophet (S.A.W.),” Governor Radda said.
He urged Islamic scholars to continue sensitising the public on the Prophet’s teachings and encouraging unity, tolerance and peaceful coexistence.
Earlier, the Commissioner for Religious Affairs, Sheikh Isyaku Dabai, thanked the Governor for receiving the delegation and congratulated him on the Maulid.
The Special Adviser to the Governor on Religious Affairs, Malam Mahi Muhammad Bello, highlighted the significance of the 12th of Rabi’ul Awwal and said the visit was to congratulate the Governor on the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W.).
The gathering was attended by senior Islamic scholars, government officials and members of the Muslim community.
