Man shares alleged experience with Nigerian police, accuses officers of extortion

A Nigerian man has recounted a disturbing experience involving alleged police intimidation and extortion.

According to his account, he was stopped by an officer who accused him of being involved in fraud and demanded money.

When he refused, the situation reportedly escalated, with the officer threatening both him and the driver, ordering the driver to leave the scene.

The man claimed he was then taken aside and intimidated, with the officer allegedly suggesting that he could harm him and falsely label it as an accident.

Fearing for his safety, he said he eventually transferred ₦30,000 to secure his release.
