A Nigerian lady opines that she cannot marry a man who works a regular 9-to-5 job earning ₦200,000 monthly, especially in the current economy.
Speaking in a video making rounds on social media, the lady explained that although she also works a 9-to-5 job, she would not consider dating someone within the same income bracket as herself.
According to her, she believes the man in a relationship should earn significantly more.
She further suggested that earning the same salary as her partner could affect the level of respect in the relationship, a remark that has since generated widespread debate online.

“I can’t marry a guy doing 9-5 job earning 200K, in this economy. I’m also a 9-5er but I can’t date somebody with my same income bracket. You’re the man of the house so it should be higher. Disrespect comes with nature. I can’t know you’re earning the same thing as me and, you know na..”
